Hello all old and new ,
I apologise for going AWOL but £25 was way to much for me to pay over the last few months , but i did it now ... so am back :)
Don't get me wrong it is well worth the money , it's just that other priorities took hold.

Update :
Given up CAB to concentrate on 2 tiny fledgling businesses made possible through JCP ESA permitted work rules ( Can do less than 16 hrs and earn less than £99.50 pw)
Am involved in, the also fledgling, Disability Rights UK Forum which has promise for making change , and hopefully back on here giving assistance where needed and also getting help here.
I also hope to be more involved here.

Curiously one of the businesses first projects is to design a website for a CAB led partnership and this is nearly finished:)yayyy.

My photography side is also getting involved in community photography ( ie stuff that promotes local projects and charities).

Managed to get a mention in a local paper here , and I am very pleased
http://www.newsshopper.c...hy_skill_into_business/

All thanks to twitter :)

I hope to be posting a lot more here , especially on the benefits bit ( Just looked and am going to have to look at them over the weekend) :)

Yayyy I am back :)

Hope you are as healthy as you can be :)

Hiya ,
Thanks to both of you :)
Now looking forward to the next NRAS mag :) now i m a member as well as a volunteer :)( though i haven't done much of the volunteering:()

Looking through the pages , i see you are both heavily involved and should be commended for that .
and it is obvious that if you did not know the answer you took the time to research and give people links .Not many people do.
It is all about community whether it be locality , illness or just a desire to make change , and this forum opens up so many possibilities.

On one subject i looked at which i am not happy with is the Healthcare at Home issues...i was affected .. and i got the apology letter , but this is something not in my control....I did not choose to use Healthcare at Home .. it was the choice of my Hospital Trust (Formerly the PCT).
In a consumer contract you have choice ..for example a Telecom supplier ... you choose ..if you don't like it you leave and go to another supplier. This is not possible with this.

With drug supply at this level the contract is with the PCT (formerly), now CCG or Hospital Trust and we have no control over it as patients.( at this level)
this is ridiculous, as is , as Paul points out that there are chargeable calls . Imagine if you can .. you have no money and cannot call to get your vital epi-pen delivery, and you have a choice of nappies or a phone call (that may or may not answer
)
This also leads to options of trying to get drugs from dubious online companies at a premium.

Fair comment that the drugs cost a lot , however i believe the delivery company should be a matter of choice for the patient NOT the CCG/PCT.
I will campaign for this til it happens .

options and choice are the key to a modern day civilised society and i hope you support me in this idea :)

A very basic question for me is why these meds can't be distributed through the existing and highly effective pharmacy distro network, augmented with a home delivery service that many pharmacies do anyway. Then it would just be part of our usual meds landscape.

Hello Rich!

Glad that you have returnedLOL
I follow you on twitter but you don't follow me back!!!
Your photos that you tweet about are amazing, AND you take photos very early.

The forum is smaller but I don't meet others on Facebook because it's not something I wish to sign up forSmile passwords/profiles etc.

Healthcare at home has improved where they now text/email delivery date, had one occasion a couple of months ago getting anything arranged or my call answered. Now the couriers are all different turning up from different areas. I received the fob off letter apologising (gave me no faith) the company doesn't get the impact on anti tnf's.

I'm in touch with Jenni aka @wonkywarrier - she away training with her new dog helper (she has blogged about her journey on twitter)
Sad that many people don't join in on NRAS but I'm around subject to stiffness/tiredness/work!

Pleased you have been able to spread your words of wisdom around again!
